Privacy Policy.

Who we are

PSI ("we", "us") is an independent research software project operated by a single developer. This policy applies to the psi-agent.dev website and to all PSI software products, including Grinder. For any privacy question, contact hello@psi-agent.dev.

What we collect

We collect the minimum necessary to sell, license, and support the software:

  • Email address — used for account identification, license delivery, and support correspondence.
  • License records — license key, purchase date, product tier, and activation count, required to validate and manage your license.
  • Support correspondence — the content of emails you send us, retained so we can actually help you.

Payment information is handled entirely by Paddle, our payment processor and Merchant of Record. We never see, store, or process your card number, bank details, or billing address beyond what Paddle shares with us for license delivery (typically name, email, and country). Paddle's own privacy policy applies to the checkout process: paddle.com/legal/privacy.

Your research data never leaves your machine

Audio files, transcripts, TextGrids, and any other research data you process with PSI software stay on your computer. Processing is local. We do not upload, store, transmit, or analyze your research data — ever. This is an architectural property of the software, not just a policy promise.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. We do not run analytics scripts, advertising pixels, fingerprinting, or tracking cookies on this website. This site sets zero cookies.

Third-party processors

Exactly two third parties touch your data, and only for the stated purpose:

  • Paddle.com Market Ltd — payment processing and Merchant of Record (billing, tax, receipts).
  • Zoho Mail — hosting for the @psi-agent.dev mailbox used in correspondence.

Legal bases and retention

We process your data to perform the purchase contract (license delivery), to meet legal obligations (tax and accounting records, retained as required by applicable law), and on the basis of legitimate interest (answering your support requests). License and transaction records are kept for as long as your license remains valid plus the statutory accounting retention period. Support emails are deleted on request.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data at any time, and you may object to or restrict processing, by emailing hello@psi-agent.dev. We will confirm completion within 5 business days. Note that deleting license records voids your license, and records we must retain by law (tax invoices issued by Paddle) are exempt from deletion until the retention period expires.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will post the new version here with an updated date and, where a change affects paying customers, notify them by email before it takes effect.
